Is a great versatile rod, it is ideal for salmon or large sea trout on the smaller to medium sized rivers around the world. This rod has a fairly fast middle to tip action, and like the 12ft model its action gives the caster a great deal of control for perfect accuracy and presentation when casting. This rod suits head weights of between 34-38g, with the 12m, 36g DTX shooting head lines loading the rod perfectly.
The Mackenzie DTX design team is excited with the launch of its new range of Shooting head rods. The range follows on from the phenomenal success of its award winning range of DTX Spey rods and the design team have created something very special in this new range of Shooting head rods and lines for 2011. This new range combines over 100 years of collective experience on the river bank, along with modern thinking and up to date 21st Century technology.
This DTX blank has been designed to suit modern shooting head line systems. The handle has been specially designed to give the caster perfect bottom hand grip for better control when flexing the rod, and the correct upper hand positioning on the handle so the caster flexes the rod correctly, making casting effortless.
The full range of rods were tested in Russia and Tierra del Fuego last year and all models excelled, in some of the harshest and most challenging environment in fishing.
